The estate is entirely farmed organically.
It comprises 5 hectares and 6 grape varieties on 3 terroirs:
Saint-Jean-de-Fos: plot of old Mourvèdre (0.70 ha),
Montpeyroux: Mourvèdre (0.30 ha),
Jonquières, a 4-hectare plot: Cinsault (1.50 ha), Grenache noir (1.00 ha), Syrah (0.75 ha), Grenache blanc and Marsanne (0.75 ha).
Vineyard work is entirely manual and chemical-free
(one plot is in conversion and the others are certified AB).
Born among the vines in Clapiers, north of Montpellier, Romain Portier signed his first lease in 2011, in the commune of Saint-Jean-de-Fos. A plot of old Mourvèdre, just 0.70 hectares in size. The first cuvée will be called La Petite Parcelle.
In October 2017, Romain Portier expanded his business by acquiring 5 new plots in the Montpeyroux and Jonquières areas. He then decided to devote himself fully to the winemaking profession. His vines are cultivated using organic methods, taking the time to observe, listen to and study nature. He carries out the vinification and ageing himself, in order to produce sincere, expressive wines that embody, with joy and pride, the land that saw them born and raised.
